Planning Models
Planning models are functional tools designed to demonstrate ideas in true 3d. They are used primarily to alleviate concerns thrown up by planners or objectors, window positioning, ridge heights, privacy issues etc… It is often easier to reason directly from a model than from 2d drawings alone, thus making a model a very effective convincer.
Additionally, before getting to planning a model is an excellent tool to convey ideas to clients who may have trouble visualising plans and elevations in a 3d context.
The models are very versatile and can be easily altered if ideas change, making them an ideal tool from initial ideas to formal planning applications.
